A HISTORICAL UNBEATEN T20 WORLD CUP WIN FOR INDIA IN 2024

After a drought of 11 years India won the 2024 T20 world cup . Though ICC holds a tournament almost every year but we must realize that it not easy for India or any other country to win an ICC Trophy every year. West Indies is the only country to win two  T20 world cups back to back in 2012 and 2016. Following it is India to have won the inaugural T20 World cup in 2007 and then in 2024 , England won it twice, one in 2010 and then in 2022.

India remained  unbeaten in all the matches even though the final was extremely close with South Africa. Though Indian captain Rohit Sharma could not score well in the finals but in most of the matches he gave a good start with a lot of fours and sixes along with rest of the batsmen, also the bowlers bowled well including. R Ashwin, Bumrah  and Ravindra Jadeja .   I remember that in some matches batsmen couldnot score many runs but it was the  bowlers who helped India to win the match. In the final match against South Africa the innings that  Virat Kohli played proved to be match winning. From the other end wickets were going down but Virat Kohli stayed at one end and scored the singles and played big shots towards the end overs. Surya Kumar yadav took the winning catch of the finals which was the turning point and helped India to win. Hardik Pandya bowled the last over which determined India's win.

Above all India remained unbeaten which marks the significance of this World Cup. Also, I would like to mention that as soon as team India returned after their win they met the prime minister who congratulated and interacted with the entire team and appreciated the coach Rahul Dravid for his guidance. This was followed by the T20 World cup victory parade at Marine Drive which was witnessed by thousands of people in Mumbai and also was live on TV.

This win was especially significant as It was second time India won the T20 World Cup. First time India had won the inaugrual T20 world cup in 2007 under our young team captain M.S. Dhoni. After this win, Rohit sharma, Ravindra Jadeja and virat kohli took retirement from T20 matches. Virat kohli said that even if India lost, it would still be his last T20 World Cup.

I specially loved this win because back in 2007 when India won I wasn't much into cricket as I was too young and much busy with my therapies in Delhi. But this time I am so grateful to God that not only could I enjoy watching all the matches very closely but also share my personal thoughts with the world's best cricket commentator sir HARSHA BHOGLE . The thrill of connecting with the person who is so experienced and above all who is live on the ground is beyond explanation. He continues to motivate me till this day and I hope to learn much more from him.
